What should I expect for my session?
We recommend arriving a little early to your session (we have a lounge and complimentary refreshments). At the start of your session, you’ll meet your Engineer who will oversee the production. If it’s your first time with us, we’ll explain the options for studio, camera, and microphone setup. We’ll adjust the studio to your needs.
Once you’re ready to start, your Engineer will prep you on everything you need to know and beginning recording once ready. Once the recording is complete, you’ll be provided the audio and video files.
Do I need to bring anything to my session?
We try to provide everything you need, but if possible, we recommend:
- A pair of headphones with a 1/8″ plug – if you don’t have any, we’ll provide you with some or have options available for purchase.
- A hard drive – we can copy the audio and video files to your provided hard drive, if needed. If not, we offer hard drives for purchase on-site or will upload the files to a cloud service for you to retrieve later.
I want the studio to look a certain way, can you accommodate that?
It depends, but we’ll always try. Ahead of booking your session, reach out to us and let us know what you’re looking for. We can typically manage minor studio adjustments or set dressing needs. Some requests might require some more work, and we’ll let you know what’s needed to make it work.
Can I bring guests?
Of course. Studio 1 can accommodate four guests, and we allow up to six people total per session. If you need something different, let us know.
What happens if my session runs long?
Especially for first sessions, we recommend arriving early to get acclimated with our studio, control room, and other things you may need to know. If you need to extend your session, we can add time by the hour at $185/hour. Our ability to extend sessions is dependent on availability.
How do I get my audio/video files?
If you provide a hard drive, we will provide the files on your drive after your recording is completed. If you don’t have a hard drive, we have some available on-site for purchase. Otherwise, your files will be available on a cloud file service (like Google Drive) after your session.
Will you edit my audio/video for me?
Editing is not included, but it’s available for an additional fee.
What is mutl-track audio and multi-cam video?
When we record your session, every microphone and camera is recorded independently. For audio, this allows you or another editor to isolate whoever is speaking and manage the audio for the highest-quality podcast sound.
For video of your podcast, each camera is recorded as a separate file so you can edit who’s speaking, reaction shots, or show two cameras at once – these are great for editing your podcast for YouTube or social platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
What is not included with my session?
We try to include everything needed to leave your session with raw, high-quality audio and video files. For most, this is all that’s needed, but we offer a few options available for an additional fee:
- Rough Multicam Edit – we can provide a rough video cut of your podcast session, ideal if there is two or more speakers in the studio.
- Produced Audio Edit – our Audio Editors can work with you to understand the sound of your podcast and produce the episode, complete with production music and effects (as needed).
- Produced Video Edit – a polished version of the Rough Multicam Edit, complete with transitions, graphics, credits, production music, and sound effects.
- Social Clip Edits – ideal for promoting your podcast on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, we can find and cut 1-3 minute edits of your podcast using the audio/video recordings.
All of these options are available for an additional fee. Since every podcast is different, contact us so we can provide a custom quote.
